Welcome to Round 2 of the 2021 Cross Country Series. This is the second race in a series of three, set in Silvan Mountain Bike Park. Course will again be a short loop and a long loop. Easy course will stick to short loop. Expert course will do both. Short loop is Alpha and Hare Down. Long loop is Alpha, Exodus, Sequence and Alpha. 6km, 230m climbing for both.
Register: Due to Covid-19 all riders MUST pre-register.
Ebikes: ebikes welcome. Depending on numbers entered will depend on how many categories there will be.
Costs: $20 NMTBC Members, $25 Non-NMTBC Members.
Race Start/Finish: Meet at the Arena area.
9.00am registration – Riders must pre-register.
Race Briefing: 9.45 am

Categories: DOB as at 31/12/21.
Master 1 – 30yrs – 39yrs
Master 2 – 40yrs – 49yrs
Master 3 – 50yrs – 59yrs
Master 4 – 60+ years

Prize Giving will be at the finish.
Nelson XC is built around fun, challenge, and encouraging riders of all ages and disciplines to give it a go. There will normally be an easy course and a more challenging course on the menu to ensure all abilities are catered for. It is pretty fun trying to cut off your friends or pip them at the finish line!
Cross Country (XC) racing is a challenging and fun format that requires mental fortitude, technical riding prowess and fitness! XC is a set number of laps of a course, which can include roads, trails, gravel, uphill, downhill and more! The first person to finish the required number of laps wins!
A mass start sees everyone set off at the same time, fighting to get prime position for the grueling effort to come. Strategy is king in this kind of race!
Dates and venues are:
31 Oct – Codgers, meet at the bottom skid (where the container was)
7 Nov – Silvan, meet in the arena area
14 Nov – Kaiteriteri meet at the pump track
Times and fees:
$20 per race
Collect timing chip from 09:00
Start 10:00
Covid -19 protocol will be followed and under level 2 all riders must pre-register.
