Our people

our people

NMTBC is built on the blood sweat and tears of a super committed group of volunteers, without these people, Nelson wouldn’t be the mountain bike mecca that it has become.

We would like to acknowledge all of our past volunteers and committee members   “We stand on the shoulders of giants”.

Events porfolio - jono corfield & ellie davies

Jono and Ellie work together to help to facilitate the provision of and participation in NMTBC events. The main goals of the Events Portfolio in 2021 is for the Club to have a diverse calendar of local events which attract a wide range of riders, while delivering the ability for riders to diversify their disciplines and participate in many types of events. In addition, increasing the number of social events that the Club provides is a major goal. This will provide participation opportunities for a wider range of members.

Jono and Ellie work closely with volunteer event organisers (you guys!) to make running club events as easy and fun as possible; this is an ongoing activity for the Events Portfolio. Relationships with landowners and managers are also developed and managed constantly to ensure club events have rad trails and facilities underpinning them.

Jono and Ellie are both mountain bike riding enthusiasts – Jono loves volunteering at the Wairoa Gorge in his spare time when he’s not working in the Operations Team at MediaWorks, and Ellie has been known to frequent the odd enduro event when not being a Project Manager with DOC. Both are partial to a sneaky craft beer on the weekends!
