Your NMTBC membership allows access to the Sharlands MTB area in Hira Forest. Codgers & Fringed. Hill trails in Hira Forest are open to public access. All other Tasman Pine Forests require an access permit directly from Tasman Pine Forests Ltd, which you can get by clicking here.

Sharlands Access Update:

Due to harvest operations the Sharlands area of Hira Forest will be closed until 31/05/2024. This closure will be in place 24 hours / 7 days per week for this period to ensure public safety. The trails on Maitai Face in Hira Forest remain open with the only access via the Maitai Face climbing trail. The Codgers and Fringed Hill areas, leased by the NMTBC and Nelson City Council (NCC) also remain open to the public for recreation.
