Hira Forest and the Sharlands trails will be closed on weekdays.
The Tasman Pine Forests harvesting crew will be in Hira Forest from Thursday morning, 4 November, felling trees. This will mean that a full Hira Forest closure will come into effect from Thursday for all weekdays until the works have been completed.
The forest will be closed to all non-operational traffic during the week and opened in the weekend with the exception of the operational area which will remain closed 24/7. There are gates at either end of the operational area, so it is clear where the closed areas are. This work will take a couple of weeks subject to weather, but expect more weekday closures over the next two years.
