Register: Registration open 6pm on 3 June. Spaces are limited. First in first served.
Overview: NMTBC has an amazing crew of up and coming youth riders. The skill and motivation shown by these riders is outstanding. We are also aware that many of these riders are riding grade 5+ trails without adults and may not know what to do if things go wrong. This first aid and emergency response course is designed to give these riders some first aid skills and emergency response strategies to help if one of their crew takes a spill.
Course Information: The four hour course will start indoors with a theory session, this will be followed by scenarios out on the trails.
What: MTB specific first aid and emergency response training
When: 22 June
Time: 10am – 2pm
Where: Waahi Taakaro Golf Club Rooms (Maitai Valley Road) + scenarios outside
Bring: Packed lunch and riding gear
Who: NMTBC members only. Aged 11 – 17 years
COST – Free *
*That’s right, thanks to Peak Safety this course is free for participants, however, we are asking that you make a donation to NMTBC’s First Aid training fund. All NMTBC event medics are required to complete a Pre-hospital Emergency Care first aid course and complete a refresher course every two years thereafter. NMTBC tries to fund at least half the costs for these medics as it is essential for the safety of our riders that we provide highly trained medics. Pay what you can but suggested donation amount is $50
