NMTBC XMAS Shred

NMTBC Christmas Shred Day : Sunday 14th December

We’re wrapping up the year with racing, a BBQ, games, and a good day out on the trails. Christmas shirts, tinsel and Santa hats are all welcome! Everyone is welcome – you do not need to have done any of the previous races in the series. These events are all for fun (and gloating rights) so come along and give it a go.

Please pre-register and bring cash on the day! Bring the family along through the middle of the day for our scavenger hunt and BBQ. All members welcome.

Location: The registration tent and base for the day will be at the skid site at the bottom of Lower Firball and Lower Crazy Horse. The Slow Bike Race will be at the Skill Park.

9am – 1130am – XC FINAL & PRIZE GIVING

Final XC: King & Queen of the Mountain

This round won’t count toward the overall XC series, but it will give you bragging rights. It’s a King & Queen of the Mountain race combined with a one-lap XC course — a solid way to finish the season.

Course:

Start at Container Skid → up Saddle Rd → Coppermine Trail → Tasman Journeys → Middle Road → up to Firball lockout for QOM/KOM. Then down Marama → up Fireball Rd → down IV → into Tu Meke. One lap.

$50 up for grabs for both the King and Queen of the Mountain — start training now.

Lets keep the racing even so it’s mountain bikes only (no gravel bikes) for the King/Queen of the mountain.

1130am – 1pm – NMTBC BBQ, Scavenger Hunt & Slow Bike Race

The NMTBC BBQ will be going and ALL club members are welcome to come and grab a sausage and have a chat about all things mountain biking. You do not need to be doing any of the races to be able to come along.

Scavenger Hunt: Take a photo of our Christmas Scavenger hunt map (which will be at the BBQ tent) and head out to find all the Christmas symbols. Bring your answer sheet back to the tent for a Xmas treat! All spots will be on the front side of Codgers and no higher than middle road (perfect course for our younger riders!)

1230pm – Slow Bike Race. Meet at the Skills Park for our slow bike race. Slowest rider will win the race! More info given at the event.

Super D – Final.

Timing Chip collection from just after 1pm until 230pm. Super D prizing giving will follow as soon as all riders have finished. This race will count towards the overall placing.
