MTBNZ – National DH Round 5 – Nelson
The Nelson Mountain Bike Club is hosting the fifth and final round of the 2022 MTBNZ National Downhill Series, racing on Kaka. We look forward to welcoming riders, ranked amongst the best in the world, to Nelson.
NMTBC is in need of more Volunteers for this race! Please email events@nelsonmtb.club if you or your friends and whānau are available to help on either Saturday/Sunday or both!
The new race format under the red light settings is as follows:
Saturday 19th February – practice, seeding and race day for Non-UCI Categories.
Sunday 20th February – practice, seeding and race day for UCI Categories.
There will be no spectators permitted within the event area, and competitors will be allowed one support person, who needs to be registered with MTBNZ.
MTBNZ will handle all comms around this requirement.
Due to the change in the program to racing on 2 days, there is now no official track walk. The trail will be open for a self guided track walk from 12pm on Friday the 18th February leading up to the event.
All events will be run in accordance with MTBNZ covid-19 regulations and all riders and support people must be vaccinated with a vaccine passport. These passports WILL be checked upon entry to the event area. Face masks will be required. All details are within the attached Race Guide.
