Matariki Gorge Rogaine

Team Entry: $150 per team (2 people). Location: Wairoa Gorge Bike Park

Celebrate Matariki with purpose and adventure in the beautiful backcountry of The Gorge. The Matariki Rogaine is a team-based navigation challenge where mountain biking meets strategic exploration — all set in one of Aotearoa’s most stunning riding environments.

 What’s a Rogaine?

Rogaine is a team navigation event where you ride to checkpoints spread across the terrain, collecting points based on how many you find within a set time. Don’t be late back, or you start losing points! Choose your own route. Ride as hard or as cruisy as you like. Strategy is key!  Some trails will be used as uphill climbing trails for the day.

2 riders per team and you must stay together at all times. E-bikes welcome (Separate category). There will be no age group categories so you can team up with who you like!

$150 per team. Includes map, 2 shuttles and post event bbq.

Check-in opens: 8:00am. First shuttle leaves at 8.30am, if needed we’ll open a second wave at 9.30am. 

Event Schedule

8am – Arrive and sign in

830am – Shuttle leaves

9.00am – Maps handed out Irvines Hut

9.00am – 9.20am – Planning time

9.20am – Race starts

11.00am – Second shuttle departs from Razor Bridge (Don’t miss it – no second chances!)

1.30pm – Race finishes

Note: Late return = points deducted!

Join us back at Deans Shed Carpark for prizegiving and a post-event BBQ around 2:30pm.
